Food is Medicine

Our retreats are designed by naturopathic and functional medicine physicians who understand that food *is* medicine!

But what does that really mean?

The nutrient content of our food is so important. But we believe that there is a deeper way to transmute our food into medicine: What really makes the food we eat healing and nourishing, is the intention, process and energy behind it. Eating locally to your area, and eating foods that help to restore and bring balance to the planet and to your local environment, is medicine. Eating foods that are regenerative, not extractive, to the Earth is what creates healing.

Each ingredient has its own energy frequency. Colorful foods — foods that reflect the hues of the rainbow — are very high vibration and packed with nutrients. 

The way in which you eat your food, also makes it medicine. Being present with each bite as you eat; breathing it in, smelling it, touching it, being fully aware and conscious with your meal. These are acts that raise the vibration and the healing capacity of what you eat. Connect with your food, and you will uplift it to nourish and uplift you. In order for your body to absorb the nutrients from food, you need to be at-ease. This is another reason why  we are devoted to the retreat space. It creates a reference point for your nervous system to rewire and know how to come out of the stress response.

We source nearly every ingredient from our island, so the flavor and nutritional profiles are optimized at every meal.

Eating together, in presence and in gratitude is a very important aspect of the deep reset that participants receive on retreat.
